At most of the Internet Marketing, Search and RSS conferences I attend, the level of content is pitched at people who are fairly new to these concepts. Syndicate was rarified air indeed.
I had a great time hanging out with the people who are shaping this industry.
Back in 1999 when I first came to the States, I was working as the PR manager for one of the first broadband ISP’s , a company with excellent ideas for the future of broadband and what could be accomplished in the future.
It was here that I was introduced to Google as the new search tool . I read the Cluetrain Manifesto shortly after it came out. I particularly liked the section by Doc Searls.
Being immersed in the Internet at this time and reading Cluetrain then had a huge impact on my view of marketing and PR and how the Internet would change the face of business communication in the future.
Sitting in the keynote conversation at Syndicate, listening to Doc interview Jonathan Schwartz from Sun Micro systems I thought, this is that future.
My three days at Syndicate were the best fun I have had in a long time.
